Direct-to-Film (DTF) is a revolutionary printing process that allows us to transfer high-resolution designs onto fabric using a specialized heat-transfer film.
Think of it as the perfect middle ground between screen printing and digital printing. It captures the intricate detail of a digital photograph while maintaining the stretch and durability of a traditional screen print. Because the ink is bonded to the fabric via a unique adhesive powder, the result is a vibrant, soft-to-the-touch design that won't crack or peel.
We’ve refined our process to ensure every transfer that leaves our shop is optimized for longevity and color accuracy.
Your artwork is sent to our high-definition wide-format printers. We print your design onto a clear, non-absorbent PET film using specialized pigment inks. We start with the colors and finish with a solid white base layer—the "secret sauce" that allows the design to pop on any fabric color.
While the ink is still wet, we apply a unique TPU adhesive powder. This powder sticks only to the ink, not the film. This is what creates the permanent bond between the design and your garment.
The film passes through a heated curing tunnel. This melts the adhesive powder into a thin, flexible "glue" layer and dries the ink. At this stage, the transfer is stable, durable, and ready to be shipped or pressed.
The finished film is placed onto your garment and pressed with a heat press (usually at 300°F–325°F). The heat reactivates the adhesive, locking the ink into the fibers of the shirt. Once cooled, the film is peeled away, leaving only your stunning design behind.
